ACSI Math Olympics

ELCA’s 3rd through 8th grades participated in the ACSI Math Olympics on Friday, March 11, 2011, at Lafayette Christian School in LaGrange, Georgia. Six students from each grade qualified for the Olympics.
In order to qualify for the Math Olympics, the students took two timed grade-level tests in the areas of Arithmetic Computation and Mathematical Reasoning. The scores from these tests along with the students’ math grades were used to determine which students qualified for the Olympics.

The objectives of the ACSI Math Olympics are as follows:
        to stimulate an interest in mathematics
        to recognize the achievements of students in mathematics
        to provide an opportunity to meet and fellowship with other
           mathematics-oriented students
        to offer students an opportunity to glorify God in the use of
their mathematical abilities beyond the classroom

The ACSI Math Olympics is a series of timed tests or rounds. All students took four tests with each test lasting 11 minutes. There were a total of six schools that participated in the Olympics.
