Accelerated Reader
Accelerated Reader is a computer-based reading program for elementary students. This program complements classroom reading programs to help build student interest in reading, to enlarge student vocabulary bases, and to increase reading comprehension levels. ELCA now subscribes to AR Enterprise which gives students unlimited access to more than 88,000 quizzes—including quizzes for books found within the school library, public libraries, and in your own homes. Plus, more than 10,000 new quizzes become available every year!  Students will participate in a Star Reading assessment quiz which will assign a book level reading range for him/her. Students will then select books within his/her range for quiz-taking. Because so many quizzes are now available to our students, there is no longer a printed list of AR books. Access Accelerated Reader 
quiz information by searching the database by title or author. 
 
Read a Series
Once you find an author or series that you enjoy, follow through—read all of that author’s books or all of the books in a favorite series!
