Hello Charger Nation…
Well our 2010 Middle School Football opened up the season with our in county rival Strong Rock Patriots. The Patriots returned several players from last year’s team which included a lot of 7th graders and were ready to play on Thursday. The Charger offense was very strong from the beginning taking the opening drive down the field and scoring in 4 plays to take a 7-0 lead. The Patriots Started offense as well very strong taking the ball deep in Elca territory before putting the ball on the ground and we took over. Both teams after that made several mistakes that would lead to the ball changing hands a few times before a few minutes left in the 2nd qtr the Chargers took it in for another score taking a 14-0 lead into halftime…
Both teams came out the 2nd half with their adjustments and were able to match touchdowns but in the end the Chargers came out with another victory to start the season out 1-0…The Chargers are returning no players off the Championship Team of 2009 and was very happy to start the season off with a win. Just a few stats were Total offensive yards were 352 for the chargers and were led by Cam Stewart with 115 rushing yards and Miles Vaughn with 95 yards with a 70 yard TD called back….Jordan Long did a very good job under center as the QB and lead the team to each of the TD’s… Andrew loach was very impressive at wide out with 3 catches for 69 yards…We have several receivers that are young and look to get better…The whole Offensive line were very strong for their first outing and look to get stronger. The Defensive side of the ball is where the chargers miss the veteran leadership it had last year but without a doubt this year’s group has the talent and heart to be very good in time….
We will welcome in The North Cobb Christian team this Thursday at 5:00pm
Thanks

Hello Charger Nation….
This week we had North Cobb Christian come to town ready to upset us at home but at the end the Chargers prevailed 40-8 . As a team we worked hard all week on not making mistakes that will stall drives on offense and work on getting the boys settled in on defense. After the 1st qtr the boys responded and put together a good hard fault game .The offense for the second straight week seemed to be unstoppable at times pilling up over 452 yards and five TDs lead once again by Camron Stewart rushing for over 164 yards and Miles Vaughn with a solid performance along  with a 98 yard punt return for a TD. The offensive line was much improved this week with their blocking assignments lead by 7th grade center Kirk Goggins who once again had no miss snaps from center. Jordan Long went 3 for 3 which was just enough to keep the NC defense on their heels. I really can’t say enough about the line and their blocking and the wide outs as well because we work on it so much and they are really learning well. The Defense fault hard all day and it seemed at times they were out there all day but only give up 98 total yards with just a few mistakes that kept us on the field to long at times. Our defense is very young at their positions lead by our  linebackers which Kerrington Wilson started for his first time and Charles Oakley with Darius Goode on the front line. We hope to continue to tweak things just a bit and get better and this week we  get ready to welcome  Walker Middle school who will come in  ready to knock us off.
Go Chargers
