Introducing ELCA's New Head of School
Dr. Timothy R. Hahn
ELCA Family –
After many hours of prayer, resume reviews, interviews and discussion over the last year, we are both humbled and excited to share with you the newly named Head of School for Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy, Dr. Timothy R. Hahn. Our national search resulted in a rich pool of qualified candidates, but we are confident that Dr. Hahn is who God has called to lead our school into the future. His incredible experience, philosophy on education, leadership and vision casting made him a top candidate during the process. His passionate love for the Lord, desire to see the gospel spread throughout his community and his willingness to follow God’s leading made him the very best person to ensure we continue to make ELCA a school and ministry that glorifies God by assisting parents in involving their children in a growing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ through Kingdom Education.
Dr. Hahn currently serves on the Executive Team for Roanoke City Public Schools in Roanoke, Virginia as Executive Director for Student Services. The Roanoke City Public School District consists of 29 schools with approximately 14,000 students in an ethnically diverse community. All of these schools are fully accredited and have received numerous awards over the past few years. His current role includes the management of health strategies, COVID-19 protocols, safety measures, and discipline guidance for the entire district. Prior to working in Roanoke, Dr. Hahn served as the Assistant Superintendent and the High School Principal for Liberty Christian Academy (LCA) in Lynchburg, Virginia. With over 2000 students and five individual schools, LCA is the largest Christian school in Virginia and one of the largest in the United States. LCA is an affiliated ministry of Liberty University, one of the largest Christian universities in the world.
Dr. Hahn brings a total of 23 years of teaching and administrative work in both public and private education systems along with outstanding credentials. Dr. Hahn earned his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Liberty University while also participating in the Liberty University football program. He completed a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from the University of Virginia and then returned to Liberty University to complete his Education Specialist and his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership.
We are excited for Dr. Hahn to join the ELCA family and we look forward to having him as a visible leader who will continue to foster excellence within our school. Dr. Hahn and his family will be relocating from Roanoke, VA to Henry County at the end of the current school year. He and his wife, Karen, have been married for 19 years and together they have four boys who will attend ELCA beginning in the fall of 2021: Bryson (17), Brodie (14), Blake (13) and Luke (9).
