EAGLE'S LANDING CHRISTIAN ACADEMY
HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS
We are extremely pleased to welcome you to the 2021–2022 academic year! Although the 2020–2021 school year was challenging, God enabled us to persevere, grow closer as a school family, and learn many valuable lessons. Our leadership team has worked diligently and collaborated with healthcare professionals in developing these protocols.
Given our extensive planning and logistical work during the pandemic, we are well positioned for a safe return for the 2021-2022 academic year. We are planning for a full in-person return in August with an environment more similar to non-pandemic years. We will implement general health and safety procedures detailed below which are proven to be prudent for the well-being of all students and teachers.
• PreK students may arrive no earlier than 7:30AM and must be scanned in at the North Portico.
• Lower school and middle school students may arrive no earlier than 7:30AM and should go directly to the Eagle Café until dismissal to their first period class at 7:45AM.
• Parents of PreK and lower school students may walk their students to their classroom door.
• High school students may arrive no earlier than 7:30AM and will report directly to the high school commons area until dismissal to their first period class at 7:45AM.
ELCA does not currently have a mask mandate for the 2021-2022 school year. Masks are optional, but permissible and encouraged. While mask usage is optional and not mandated for staff, teachers, and students during the school day, ELCA will be supportive of individuals who choose to wear a mask. We ask that there be mutual respect within the ELCA community for those who choose to wear or not wear a mask.
Classroom desks will be arranged with as much space between each student as possible and will be facing the same direction. Students and faculty will be encouraged to respect each individual’s personal space.
The school will promote proper hand hygiene throughout the school day. The school will ensure that an adequate supply of hand sanitizer, hand soap, and paper towels will be available in all classrooms.
Our maintenance staff will continue to disinfect frequently touched surfaces with EPA approved products. Hand sanitizer will be available in all classrooms and throughout the building. Electrostatic sprayers will be used to disinfect on a routine basis and for specific areas as needed.
K-12 students will eat lunch in the cafeteria. PreK students will eat lunch in their respective classrooms. Hand sanitizer will be available, and tables will be cleaned and disinfected after each use.
As was our normal procedure before the pandemic, students who become ill should remain at home until they are fever free for at least 24 hours. Health and safety mitigation strategies will follow state and/or federal requirements. Should you have any additional health questions, please contact the school nurse.
We look forward to bringing our community back on campus, to hold indoor and outdoor activities as we have in the past, and to worship together joyfully and frequently. We plan to re-establish the community feel that makes us ELCA. We plan to gather, love, and rejoice in the fact that we have been created for relationships and celebrate this ideal as often as possible. Know that we look forward to an exciting school year and hope to see you at our Back-to-School Day on Monday, August 2.
God Bless and Go Chargers!
