Whether you are on campus in a Traditional Classroom or Virtual we are excited to have you with us for the 2020/2021 School Year!  What’s new with the Advancement Office?  We are rejoicing in the hope that the Lord will carry us through as we move forward in our planning for the school year.  Our families don’t want to miss out on an incredible year that the Lord has in store for us in 20/21!

What is the

ELCA Fund?

Support ELCA by shopping at Publix.  You no longer need a key ring with our school code.  Just go to www.Publix.com and Log In to your existing account or Sign Up for a new account, make sure your phone number is entered.  Once you are in your account select the My Publix Partner icon on the bottom/center of the page, then choose Select a School and type in Eagle's Landing Christian Academy or search by zip code 30253. When you shop at Publix, you'll have the opportunity to enter a phone number to get credit for our school.  Publix will give back to ELCA through this new online system.  Over the years, more than $33,000 has been raised through this program for our school.

Big changes coming to the Box Tops for Education Program.  You will begin to see some participating brands change their packaging from the traditional Box Top that you clip to a  new digital label that will be scanned when you purchase Box Tops items. Go to BTFE.com for more information.  There will also be a new phone app feature where you can scan your store receipt from your phone and instantly add Box Tops to our school's earnings online!  In the meantime, you can still clip and save your Box Tops!  Place them in the collection boxes located throughout the school or turn them in to the school receptionist.  Each Box Top is worth 10 cents and we earn $1,000's of dollars each year for ELCA with this program!

Link your Kroger Plus Card to ELCA by visiting www.KrogerCommunityRewards.com and signing in to your online account, or create a new online account.  Once you have an account, select View Your Rewards Details and scroll down to Community Rewards and select Eagle's Landing Christian Academy - Organization #DL451 and click "Save."  Important:  Your card must be relinked every school year on or after September 1st.

Do you shop on Amazon.com?  Then go to AmazonSmile which is the same Amazon you know, same products, same prices, and same services.  Amazon will donate 0.5% of the price of your eligible purchases to ELCA!  Shopping is easy with smile.amazon.com.

The ELCA Fund is a yearly fundraising appeal to bridge the gap between the total cost of operating our school and tuition revenue.  Contrary to popular belief, tuition does not cover the full cost of educating each student.  It takes tuition and charitable donations to provide the distinctive qualities that ELCA offers including smaller classes, exemplary teachers, exceptional academics, fine arts, and athletic programs, more personal attention, and an unapologetically Christian foundation for our students.  Also, gifts to the ELCA Fund are tax-deductible where tuition is not.

Gifts to the ELCA Fund - Excellence supplements our operating budget and provides unrestricted resources for the school's immediate needs.  These needs include faculty/staff development, technology, program support for all levels of the school, and facility maintenance.

Gifts to the Families Helping Families Fund provides needs-based tuition assistance to current and new families who desire Kingdom Education for their children.

Every gift makes a difference, regardless of the amount.  For some families, the gift could be as small as $5 - $10.  For others, it could be hundreds or thousands of dollars.  Giving comes from the heart.  We encourage you to pray and give according to your means to support our ministry.  Also, increased participation in giving by the ELCA community, including our ministry team, faculty/staff, parents, and alumni helps pave the way for potential future support from outside organizations and charitable foundations.

ELCA accepts gifts in a number of different ways including cash, credit cards, appreciated stock, and matching gifts.  ELCA is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, therefore gifts to the school are tax-deductible as provided by law (please consult your accounting professional for additional information).  If you would like to make a gift, please contact Al Hosford in the Advancement Office at (678) 818-1031 or email Al Hosford.

Life Changing.

Those 2 words are the first that come to mind when I think of how the Georgia GOAL program combined with ELCA have affected my family’s life.  When I look back a few years before my oldest daughter, Haley, first attended ELCA in the 9th grade, the best I could hope for her was just to graduate.  There were no higher spiritual or educational goals I could see for her given our life circumstances.

As a single mother of 2 daughters, I was just trying to keep a roof over their heads but as a daughter of the King, He wanted so much more than just a roof.  He wanted an extended spiritual family, a Kingdom Education, a place to cultivate HIS purpose for my daughters.  This would require the contributions of what the Georgia GOAL has to offer, the administrative processes of ELCA, and the faith of a single mother to send her daughters to ELCA and pay for the difference.  Through this process, my personal faith was tested and has grown as well.  Without all of these elements, none of what we have been given would have happened.

I have very little to offer in return for what we have been given thru the Georgia GOAL and ELCA.  My children are not any more or less important than anybody else’s so how can this happen?  This happens because God orchestrated a Christian School in our community who partnered with a tax-deferred program that awards monies to qualifying families to attend their school.  This happens because a previous ELCA family made me aware of this program and encouraged me to complete an application to the school and for Georgia GOAL.  When you add up the monies that have been paid towards my children’s education thru the many components, how does a mother say thank you?  How can I ever show enough gratitude for what we have been given?  For me, one way is to put aside pride and be transparent and share what we have been blessed with through this partnership.

The Future.

For my girls, their future is vastly different from where they started.  Haley is now a 2014 graduate of ELCA and in her 2nd year of College at Clayton State University. Her calling is to be a Nurse Practitioner and serve on the mission field assisting others thru medical needs.  This calling for her was made evident thru one of the many ELCA sponsored mission trips that she was blessed to be able to go on.  So ELCA and Georgia GOAL influenced her in God’s life work.

Hannah is a sophomore at ELCA and is involved in Cheerleading and Drama.  Her educational strengths are a direct result of ELCA’s small class sizes and personalized learning to enhance her education. Whatever the future holds for them will always be linked to what ELCA and Georgia GOAL afforded them through their programs.

From a grateful mother’s heart, I cannot say THANK YOU to all who have supported ELCA and the Georgia GOAL through the years.  I invite anybody who has not participated to do so.  By doing this, you will be part of God’s work to educate children, bless families and change a life one student at a time.

Thank you,

Dear ELCA Family:

Although we are not certain of what our future holds, we are certain of who holds our future.  The last few months of our 2019-2020 academic year definitely did not go as anticipated, and no one is certain of how our 2020-2021 academic year will completely transpire, but I can assure you that the Faculty and Staff of ELCA have been working diligently to ensure that your students will have the greatest opportunity for success in their academics, arts, athletics, and whatever venture God has called them to during this upcoming year.  With all of the uncertainty in the world today, we know that we are “Stronger Together” as we strive to follow the direction and guidance of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

This year’s ELCA Fund Campaign will start with a 10-day Campaign Blitz from August 17th through August 28th.  We are asking each of our families to make their donation or pledge to the ELCA Fund during this time period as we strive to reach 100% participation from our families.  Once your family has given we will do our best not to contact you again regarding the ELCA Fund this year, but we will continue to contact those that have not given until we receive their gift.

As a thank you to the families that contribute to this year’s Campaign, we are providing to each ELCA student within the giving family the following:

For a donation of any amount, each student will receive a homework pass and the family will receive 2 specially designed 2020-2021 ELCA Fund Investor car magnets.

For a donation of $100 or greater, each student will receive the above along with a Friday wear “Stronger Together” T-shirt (please see the order form for the design of the T-Shirt). When giving online, please be sure to complete the online t-shirt form to complete the process.

Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy is classified as a 501c (3) non-profit, tax-exempt institution. All gifts to the ELCA Fund are tax-deductible as allowed by law.  Please join me and other ELCA families in making this year’s “All In In 10” campaign a success and for helping to empower our children to impact the world for Jesus Christ.  Thank you in advance for your support.
